NASA Education for Students
Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping by on the second leg of my Blog Tour. When Mary signed up to host me, and my Blog Tour theme of bringing awareness of science and science fiction to our youth, I knew just what to post.
NASA Education for Students: This site is amazing! NASA engages our youth, which are the leaders of tomorrow, in ways that inspires students in ways they could not hope to by achieve by themselves. NASA targets their age groups K-4, 5-8, and 9-12 grades.
They do this in so many ways. If NASA can identify a target audience, they’ll find a way to reach it. What else would you expect from the brainiacs from NASA?
Example: Here is a class connected with an instructor via a Web camera at NASA Langley Tuesday to learn about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, known as STEM, and what it will take to one day land a human on Mars.
Over the next few weeks, NASA conducted similar webcasts called “STEM Mania” to promote research in the fields. The agency also is using the sessions to examine the relationship between science and sports to teach students practical applications of scientific concepts. More INFO
There is an abundance of student programs and opportunities available for our youth including internship, fellowship and scholarship opportunities. Astro camp, consortiums, digital learning networks, robotics, aerospace, and other research projects. Not very many organizations can boast these amazing programs.
I really like NASA eClips. short, relevant educational video segments. These videos inspire and engage students, helping them see real world connections.
Take a few moments this week to navigate around the Nasa Education for Students site and see what exciting venues are available for students. And make it a goal to share this at least once during 2014. You’ll be glad you did!
And if you think this post is worth a Tweet, you know what to do (insert hashtags as you feel so inspired).
