Hetty bit her lower lip, nodding, finding the courage to meet his gaze. She didn’t want to lose the concern brimming in his stare, didn’t want to end their date on a sour note. “What about you?”
Elrond didn’t flinch, didn’t move away. “I’ll get the room next door.”
Chivalrous. She wondered if his romantic tendencies would hold, if his feelings would survive any time apart. Did it matter? Right now, he made her feel beautiful, bold, and smart. If they were meant to be, he’d have her feeling the same tomorrow. A very grown-up attitude. “OK.”
He leaned in closer, nuzzling her nose with his, then his mouth against hers, a light fluttering tease. He pulled back slightly. “Thanks for a wonderful date. Dare I ask for a second? Breakfast?”
“Yes.” She closed the gap between them, kissing him, her heart floating, her nerves tingling. Cosmic.
