Imaginary play, which in fancy-speak we call daydreams or creating, is central to how Hetty Locklear copes with her less than perfect life. She immerses herself in a role playing game she created called The Hysics.

A message popped up on Hetty’s chat window. She expected to read a barrage of questions from Raspberry and Maisy, asking if what they intended to post was OK. They often feared making a wrong step. Too much. Hetty wished they’d just write and surprise her, but the missive wasn’t from either of them.
Hi, did you get my request? I see you online right now, and I so want to play.
Hi, Hetty typed, unsure what else to say.
I could be crash-landed on your water world.
Had to be recruit number two. Wow, he was eager. You’re Elrond?
Yes. Please. I’m so bored, Exalted Prill.
Sucking up didn’t hurt, but Hetty didn’t want to bother with a newbie right now. It’d take until her shift was over to explain everything, ruining the pleasure of these few hours of play. Can you hang out? Wait until Cloa, Bero, and I finish this installment? Then we’ll talk.
Can’t wait. He emailed a picture.
Hetty stared. The digital image appeared so real — a dark, beautiful, powerful man, blended with black panther. No fur, but his muscles gleamed just as darkly, cut and rippling. His eyes glowed yellow, and his frame was long and lithe like the cat’s. His mouth and ears hinted at feline, too, which Hetty found extremely sexy. She bit her lower lip.
Elrond persisted. I’ll email my posts to you first. You can approve or not.
Hetty knew Prill would love to run into that scrumptious hot cake. What woman could resist a dark, handsome man in distress? OK, Elrond, you’re in. No need to have me approve your posts first, but if something goes wrong, you’re out.
