So, Hetty Locklear is at the editor’s. I met my deadline with time to spare … time off for good behavior even. Woot, woooot, wooooooot!! I took last weekend off to do nothing and to enjoy the Perseids Saturday night. Great reward.
Redid the cover to comply with the larger size requirements. Almost identical to what it was before.
I want to thank you all for the great advice and wisdom you imparted on my dilemma with selling The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear. After consulting with a crit partner who writes fantasy, it’s been deemed I can put her under the urban fantasy genre. So, that’s what I’m going to do. I will also mark it at 3.99 and will upload to all outlets except Amazon through Smashwords to give me maximum flexibility in pricing. So, if I want to set it to free for awhile, I can.
Now I have two more bits that need your sage wisdom, experience, and expertise.
First … Hetty Locklear contains an adult scene. It is not YA and won’t be marketed as such. It also isn’t erotica or romance [not a HEA], so how do I handle letting folks know there’s some sex in it ? Do I say in the description … adult content. Or what?
Second … I’ve been reworking the blurb. The one I currently have up was written way back when before the novel was fully written.
Graduation from community college isn’t the magic elixir Hetty Locklear counts on for becoming an adult. She doubts visiting her parents in the Middle Ages will help. Nor the wayward ghost who latches onto her at work, warning her about a man she doesn’t know. A séance reveals the haunting is more dangerous than first suspected. It also introduces her to a mysterious lover. He leads her closer to her dreamed of That Girl life, but farther into peril, immersing her in a strange, hidden world.
Thanks for any help in improving it.
I’ve begun work on Boomtown Craze and The Augmentation of Hetty Locklear. Those will be my first releases in 2013. Then Earth Hereafter, Backworlds 4, and, if there’s time, Three Degrees of Hetty Locklear. That’s the plan.
Tonight Orson Bradbury and I, along with my friend and fellow volunteer, Gary, and the 10″ scope, are hosting a stargazing event on behalf of PMO up on Pilot Butte here in town. Almost in my backyard. So the commute is really easy for me. However, we will have to deal with the light pollution in town. Disappointing since it will be a dark night. Some different photos will be coming though. And I’ll be back up at the observatory tomorrow night.
PS. Look who Amazon recommended to me the other day. 😀 I have to say that was really cool to see. And I was the first one listed. Fantabulous!
Have a great weekend everybody!
