This Sunday, Global Swarming happens on SyFy with the premiere of Sharknado 5!
I’m thrilled for another Sharknado movie, but confess my emotions are a mixed bag. Last year I planned a whole big party. Then when I got home from work, my poor Makayla had a stroke. Party instantly cancelled and my heart was never in watching Sharknado 4. It’s hard to find much funny when my heart is broken.
I’ve had a year of healing, but there’s a huge hole in my heart. I miss my girls. They kept me going for 20 years. No matter what was going on, they always made me laugh. This year the party is more muted, but I’ll celebrate. I’ll celebrate having Makayla in my life for 20 years, and her sister Nini, and I’ll enjoy watching a fun movie where a lot of people will get eaten by sharks.
My husband claims he’s not ready for another fuzzball, but has taken to feeding the neighborhood cats. Several of them now come into the house to visit. I believe Nini sends Maggie to check in on me, because she often doesn’t leave until she sits with me and gets some scratches. Plus, she showed up on the doorstep shortly after Nini had passed. She belongs to a neighbor, so isn’t a homeless cat. She just enjoys visiting everyone in the neighborhood and seeing if she can get us to feed her anything. Since we had leftover cat food and treats, we started giving her treats. Now my husband buys them just for her. Me, I still can’t walk into a pet store. When the time is right, I’m sure two more fuzzballs will become part of our lives.
In the meantime, my schedule at work has changed and I have been unable to keep to the schedule I set for finishing Rifters #4. I am past half way and I work on it when I can. I did discover that if I can’t write enough (not goals, just writing), I get rather cranky.
I also don’t have any cavities, so may continue eating chocolate and licorice as I please. Awesome.
It’s been very hot and dry in the OR desert. And if I’m not at work, I’m doing the author biz. So, it seems I’m always working.
