The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear – Huzzah! Let the Joust Begin!

The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear! It’s launch day!

A New Adult Urban Fantasy, The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear is the first book in a new series. And it’s now out! My main character, Hetty, is a twenty-two-year-old stumbling about in an effort to become a full-fledged adult. She struggles with self-esteem, weight, relationships, and making the transition between college and the real world.

Graduation from community college isn’t the magic elixir Hetty Locklear counts on for becoming an adult. Her parents, who work the Renaissance fair circuit, insist she spend part of the summer with them. Hetty doubts pretending to live in the Middle Ages will help her find her way.

To make it worse, an entity haunts her at her dead-end job, warning her of a dangerous man she doesn’t know. The ghost leads her to a lover who has a lot of secrets. He pulls her farther into peril and into a strange, hidden world of genetic experimentation.

New Adult Urban Fantasy with a contemporary sci-fi twist. Mature content.

Available as an ebook at Amazon / Amazon UK / B&N / Smashwords / iTunes / Kobo

Lords! Ladies! Knaves and wenches! In celebration of Hetty’s unveiling, we have the first ever blogosphere jousting tournament. Huzzah! Let me hear you cheering! Loudly! Huzzah! Say it with gusto sirs and maidens.

Nine brave knights will battle, risking limb and life, eyes and teeth, for the title of JOUSTING CHAMPION. These are the best knights in all the cyberlands. Huzzah!

Cheer for them and cheer every day this week for their courage and unmatched skill, and for a chance to win a free ebook of The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear. I’m giving away five.

Each knight will earn one point for every comment using their knight’s name. Each knight can score an additional point for every comment using their special Renaissance word/phrase.

Example: Huzzah! Stormy Knight! (one point for Stormy Knight).

Huzzah! Stormy Knight. Wherefore are the other knights running away? (two points for Stormy)

Next Monday I will announce the champion, the knight who has earned bragging rights and the grand prize (brownie pops made by moi, an 8GB flashdrive with a copy of The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear loaded on it, a carrying case for the flashdrive, and a handstamped champion medal).

YOU can award each knight up to two points every day this week by cheering for them in the comments. Each time you do so, you earn another chance in the drawing for a free ebook. I will be posting Monday through Saturday this week.

Now let’s introduce the brave, brave knights and their words.

Stormy Knight, special word is wherefore (meaning, ‘why’)

Knight of the Whispering Woods, word is S’wounds (meaning ‘wow’)

Ghost Knight, word is hark (meaning ‘hey, listen up’)

Knight of Uber, word is prithee (meaning ‘please’)

Knight McSqee, Protector of Fandom, word is tosspot (meaning ‘drunkard’)

Knight Aidensdein, word is poppet (meaning, ‘child, doll’)

Knight of Fae Forest, word is cutpurse (meaning ‘thief’)

Knight Light, word is pray tell (meaning ‘please tell me’)

Gibberish Knight of the Triangle Ottoman, word is forsooth (meaning ‘indeed’)

Now Lords and Ladies, I ask that you stand back for your own safety. Lances and large horses don’t tickle.

Let the joust begin! Huzzah!

May fortune smile upon you and your ward, Hetty Locklear. And rest assured that the scurrilous rumor of sleeping gas secreted in the tip of my lance is totally unfounded!

  9. Prithee, amazing weaver of tales, Lady Mary, may I offer a favor to the gallant Knight of Uber? Methinks him the most worthy of knights participating in yon tournament!

I hear tell he is lightning fast.
